Educational Technology and Media Planning
2001-02 Technology Integration Planning
Welcome to the Georgia Department of Education’s Technology Planning forum. Here you will find information on state and local technology planning. Evidence of high-quality state and local technology planning is required for several funding programs including: Enhancing Education through Technology (EETT), e-rate, and Computers in the
Classroom. In this forum you will find criteria and resources for technology planning, information about review procedures, and opportunities to get involved in technology planning activities.
Peer Review Index
This form allows school systems to indicate where specific technology planning components can be located in their submitted plans. Required components are marked with an X in the left-hand column. Other components are only recommended. Since the plan does not have to be written in a specific format, the index is especially helpful to peer reviewers.
Response Rubric
This checklist integrates criteria and recommendations from the following programs: The Federal Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT); The Federal Communication Commission E-rate Program (FCC); the State of Georgia Lottery Allocation for Technology (LOT); and the 1997-98 Three-year Technology Plan Evaluation Checklist (CL). Submitted plans must meet all criteria in the "Meets" column of the checklist. The "Exceeds" column will be used to identify exemplary performance and documentation in particular plans. Some districts that exceed criteria may be asked to share examples of their work. However, the state of Georgia will seek permission from the district before publishing any portion of an exemplary plan. If a plan fails to meet criteria, directions for revision and resubmission will be provided in the "Needs Revision" column. Criteria were constructed collaboratively with school systems in Fall 2001 and posted for a 45-day public review period.
Peer Response Database
This password-protected, online database, identical to the peer-response rubric, allows peer reviewers to record their responses to assigned system-level technology plans.
Tech Plan Models
Excerpts from actual technology plans that "meet" or "exceed" guidelines. These models will benefit school system personnel as they write and revise their technology plans to meet guidelines and serve as models for peer reviewers as they read and respond to school system plans.
